✔️ Side Effects

• Common: Headache, nausea, diarrhea, fever, vomiting, gastrointestinal discomfort, upper respiratory infections, and skin reactions.
• Uncommon: Anxiety, dizziness, drowsiness, abnormal behavior, sleep disturbances, muscle pain, and irritability.
• Rare: Severe allergic reactions (e.g., angioedema), hallucinations, memory loss, liver problems, suicidal thoughts, or tremors.

✔️ Dosage:

Adults and Adolescents (15 years and older):

• 10 mg tablet once daily for asthma or seasonal allergic rhinitis

Pediatric Patients with Asthma or Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis:

• Ages 6–14 years: 5 mg tablet once daily
• Ages 2–5 years: 4 mg tablet once daily
• Ages 6 months–5 years: 4 mg oral granules once daily, administered directly or mixed with cold water or soft food

• Hepatic Impairment: No adjustment is needed for mild-to-moderate cases.
• Renal Impairment: No dosage adjustment is required.
• Elderly: No adjustment is needed as pharmacokinetics are similar to younger adults.

Take Trilock 4 as advised by your physician. Swallow Trilock 4 with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending on your age, body weight, and disease condition. Continue to take Trilock 4 for the stipulated duration prescribed by your doctor to achieve better results.

✔️ Overdose Management

In most cases of overdose, no significant adverse effects have been reported. Symptoms may include abdominal pain, drowsiness, thirst, headache, vomiting, or hyperactivity. Supportive treatment, such as removing unabsorbed material and clinical monitoring, is recommended.

✔️ Drug Interactions

Trilock can be safely used alongside other treatments for asthma, such as theophylline, prednisone, oral contraceptives, and digoxin. No significant drug interactions have been reported in clinical studies. However, potent cytochrome P450 enzyme inducers (e.g., phenobarbital) may reduce Trilock's effectiveness. In such cases, clinical monitoring is recommended.

Trilock should not be used in patients allergic to any of its ingredients.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

Montelukast crosses the placenta in animals, but there is insufficient evidence from human studies. It should only be used during pregnancy if necessary. Caution is advised when prescribing to breastfeeding mothers, as the drug may pass into breast milk.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Trilock is not a rescue medication for acute asthma attacks. Patients should have appropriate fast-acting medication available.
• Do not stop using inhaled or oral corticosteroids abruptly. Dosage reduction should only be done under medical supervision.
• Avoid aspirin or NSAIDs if you have a known sensitivity, even when using Trilock.
